Presenting the Tasaf III implementation report to the visiting officials
from World Bank, UNDP, SIDA and ILO, Singida Regional Tasaf
Coordinator, Mr Patrick Kasango, said that more than 39,400 households
in the region benefited from the conditional cash transfer component.Mr Kasango told the visiting delegates that in addition to the conditional cash transfer exercise, more than 430.35m/- was received as Targeted Infrastructure Development fund and a further 562.75m/- received for the procurement of tools.
He revealed that the region was implementing three components of the Productive Social Safety Net (PSSN) for the programme, which includes conditional cash transfer, targeted infrastructure and public works.
“While the two components of cash transfer and targeted infrastructure are being carried out in all the six district councils in the region, public work programme is implemented in four Project Authority Areas (PAA) only,” he said.
He named the four PAA as Iramba, Mkalama, Singida rural and Singida Urban, adding that its implementation took off in September, this year, with 158 villages being incorporated in the component.TANGAZO 2
